WELCOME!!

Welcome to Cotuit Woodworks!

By way of introduction, after a long career in technology sales, marketing and customer success, I retired from corporate life and my wife and I moved full time to Cotuit, MA, a town where we have spent summers since the early 2000s. We purchased a 1700s home that came with a mid 1800s outbuilding (our logo).

I spent the first few months in our new home evicting the mice from the workshop, replacing some of the old framing and replacing the rafters. Through the generosity of friends, I inherited a collection of tools (both power tools and hand tools) and started to refinish furniture for our new home.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Cape Cod, supported by the Cape Cod Woodturners, and using my inherited tools I started to turn wooden bowls from logs and experiment with charcuterie boards and cutting boards from live edge wood.

My goals in starting this business were to provide products that could serve as timeless centerpieces for family gatherings and parties, create my products in a way that is sustainable and to continue to add to my product portfolio. As a result, my offerings are all finished with food safe oils (mostly walnut) and local beeswax. They are meant for frequent and heavy use and will last for decades. I fill most of my packages with sawdust instead of bubble wrap for packing. Not only is it a clean and effective packing material, it is also biodegradable and makes a great addition to compost and gardens.

Please reach out if you have any questions or comments and I will respond as quickly as possible.

I appreciate your interest in my shop and hope you follow this space and my social feeds as the journey continues!

With Gratitude,

Chip
